Humour as an integral part of psychosocial well-being within healthcare
Modern healthcare clowning has its origins in the 1980s in the US. Since then the healthcare clowning approach has spread across the world, with Europe as its epicentre. Healthcare clowning is now an integrated part of healthcare services on a global scale, and the movement is gaining momentum. In RED NOSES, the core of our work is bringing humour and laughter to those in need of joy. Children are the primary, but certainly not the only, target group. Red Noses is the biggest healthcare clowning group in the world, and emphasizes the rigorous education of its clowns.
